This is not the typical drop-in brewery location. It's been a while coming but the Brewseum is now open in an adjacent building several nights a week (see the Brewseum location for more details). The Museum/Brewery are currently open only on weekends or through the HOTB tour program. An onsite nano-brewery has been completed and HOTBBC brews are available on tap and in bottles. Currently they produce several craft beer styles that are available in local outlets and in bottles brewed under contract on the mainland. I have enjoyed both the Pilot Pale Ale and the Remember Pearl Harbor -1941� dark lager.
You enter through the Museum with it's displays of WWII memorabilia and providing associations to the R&R activities soldiers/sailors experienced in the Pacific theater. The brew area is toward the back and the Wiki Waki Woo is a small tropical beach bar located upstairs from the main museum. There is a short bar and some table seating as well as an outside lanai covered by camouflage netting. The decor reflects the WWII theme and the taps sprout from an ammo box cooler. There is very little nearby parking so the be on the lookout for open spots on the surrounding streets. The Bus also provides regular service along Kapiolani Blvd and Ward Avenue, just a block away.
A lot is still changing as HOTBBC continues developing the local brewery theme so craft beer enthusiasts can follow the progress on Facebook or now stop by to pick up some swag and enjoy some great craft brews either here or at the adjacent Brewseum.
