Beer'd Brewing is located in the old American Velvet Mill Building. This huge two story facility is brick and concrete with wooden beam construction, and has been repurposed to serve as home for a variety of artisanal shops such as painters, sculptors, bakery and brewery. The grounds around the building are scenic, with plenty of parking space and a pond in the back. At first I felt lost because I didn't see any exterior signs for Beer'd. I parked in the lot on the left end of the building, went inside, and followed the interior signs back to unit 15B. Beer'd Brewing's rental space has grey concrete floors and white brick walls. Enter, and their walk up tasting bar is straight ahead, and there is Beer'd memorabilia for sale on the left. Also on the left is raw material storage and their grain mill. Behind the bar is their brewhouse with two stainless steel kettles on the left and a cold room on the right. They presently operate on a 3bbl system but will expand soon to a larger 7bbl stainless steel fermenter. There is no seating, no food, and no bottles for sale. Walk up to the right half of the tasting counter for free samples of one of their few beers, or to the left for growler fills. The service was super friendly, and the owner had a great sense of pride in his brewery. This fledgling brewery does not presently have an extensive offering, but I predict it will do well and grow.
