BrewRiver GastroPub is a two-story wooden building with green awning and a patio area on the right. Just a block from the river, it is a very scenic location, and the place is popular and quite crowded for dinner. Parking is free parking along the street, but you may have to walk a little bit. The patio has black iron tables and is lit with strong overhead lights. Enter the green door on the side of the building and the bar is straight ahead. The copper topped wooden bar has 14 chairs, and behind the bar is an impressive liquor and wine offering. There are a few high top tables, a few dining tables downstairs, and more dining tables upstairs. The walls are orange and yellow with dark wood trim, and the architectural concrete floor is attractive. The ambience is professional yet warm and cozy. The service is attentive and adequate despite the crowd. BrewRiver lives up to its GastroPub title with an impressive, albeit a little pricey, food menu which includes upscale appetizers, salads, a good variety of American cuisine, and an excellent dessert offering. Their beer offering is not quite as impressive, but is still decent and additive. They feature about 7 house brews, which are not actually brewed here, but at their partner Great Crescent Brewery in Aurora Indiana. These brews include Island Queen Blonde Ale, Ubiquitous Coconut Porter, Riverwater Dark Lager, Honey Wit, and my favorites Calliope IPA (6.5% abv) and Hibernation Dark Ale. In addition to these, BrewRiver also features about 40 guest bottles of national and global craft brews. In conclusion, BrewRiver's great good and agreeable atmosphere make it a great place for a dinner date, but plan to enjoy a drink while awaiting a table.
