In 2012 Flying Fish Brewery relocated from its former home in Cherry Hill to its new brewhouse in Somerdale. The drive makes the place seem a little remote, but there is a small shopping center nearby with a couple restaurants and a movie theater. Park in the brewery's dedicated lot. The building is an impressively large gray brick and cinder block construction, topped with a partial second story with bright yellow corrugated steel siding. I visited late 2012 when they first opened their doors for tastings and growler fills. The place was quite spartan with spacious concrete floors and bare white cinder block walls. For now the place is standing room only, and they have a small stainless steel bar set up with 3 taps to serve samples. Construction is planned for a new tasting room, and I will revisit after the upgrades. They are aiming to make the brewery green, as environmentally friendly as possible. There is no food service, and they were a bit slow with the pours, but I didn't mind so much considering the samples were free. Bottles can be purchased by the six pack or case, and I highly recommend their delicious beer. My favorites from their diverse product line include their hoppy Red Fish, bold Exit 16 Wild Rice DIPA, perfectly rich Exit 4 American Trippel, and several varieties of flavored stouts. I really look forward to seeing this excellent brewery evolve and grow into its new home.
