linkNot impressed. I visited Blackwater Brewing on a combined trip to visit Mountain State Brewery. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with the 6 beers offered at Blackwater. It was a slow Wednesday afternoon and the restaurant was empty, but it is a fairly large place so I assume they usually have a decent dinner crowd. Their German style cuisine menu looked appetizing, but sadly the beers didn't meet my expectations. The server was kind enough to thoroughly flush the tap lines, but most of the beers tasted like mediocre-quality homebrew. The Gold Ale, Marzen, Porter, and Stout were all below-average, and the Wheat had an unpleasant sourness. Their only redeeming beer was India Pale Ale whose hoppiness likely masked underlying off-flavors. Given the relatively remote location, I can't really suggest travelling to get to this brewpub.
