Prost is a refreshing addition to the Denver beer scene. Rather than following in the footsteps of other microbrews of making big in-your-face styles, Prost brews refreshing and tasty traditional German styles. The beer is awesome...I particularly like the Pils. Light and refreshing but with a much better flavor than the typical domestic "pilsner." The Dunkel is also killer, with a smooth, malty body. The also carry the reincarnated Tivoli Helles, which is one of the best light beers I've had. I've heard they brew the beer at Prost on a contract basis. Every time I've been there it's been on tap, so hopefully they keep it on their regular lineup. The Weiss beer is the only weak one here, but I'm not too partial to the spicy style anyhow.

The atmosphere is solid with a large interior drinking area and as well as a nice patio. Seating is the typical German beer garden style communal tables. A nice Colorado flair however is that the tables are built out of beetle kill wood, which has awesome coloration. Typical games are available at the bar (cribbage, Jenga, etc.). This place also supports local food trucks, so chances are you can pick up some tasty food with your beer.

Overall, if you would like a crisp refreshing lager, or just a refreshing change from in-your-face American styles, stop by Prost.
