Argilla Brewing @ Pietro's Pizza is a nano-brewpub and family pizzeria. The restaurant occupies the end unit in a small shopping complex. The architecture is one large room with a central pizza oven, surrounding dining tables, and an oversized bar. The large wooden bar has 26 chairs in a meandering multisided design, and a few overhead flat screen televisions. Although it doesn't match the scale of Iron Hill's Newark brewery, this new pizzeria brewpub is a remarkable improvement over the defunct lounge that formerly occupied this location. This area is nice because of the variety of cuisine nearby, such as Indian, Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, and American wings. Beer hunters can also enjoy Fire Waters' craft beer options in the shopping center next door. Argilla's is a nice destination to frequent for new craft brews and have a variety of dinner options.

Pietro's food menu is pizza, sandwiches, and a few other interesting options. I was not especially impressed by their pizza, but I really enjoyed their hamburger. The service was adequate, and I was pleasantly surprised by the craft brews from this young 1.5-barrel nano-brewery. I would characterize their beers as fresh and professionally well crafted. Their beers are flavorful enough to get your attention, but not so overpowering that you would be afraid to order a pitcher. They have eight beers on tap, which frequently rotate through a variety of recipes. Their flagship brew is nicely hopped Citizen Pale Ale. Other recent recipes have been: Gleason's Cream Ale, Argilla Amber, Meadowheat, and a couple varieties of Black IPA, Rye, and Wit beers. In summary, Argilla's is a simple convenient place for locals to grab a meal and a sampler flight of tasty local craft beers.
