This nano-brewery is Excellent. Everything they make is exceptional beer. Their staples, Frank, a crisp, fairly hoppy American Pale Ale, The Whale, a hearty, roasty American Brown Ale, and THE IPA, overflowing with a fa fantastic blend of citrus And pine aroma and hop flavor are all--like their names--bold, no-nonsense beers. While I do enjoy and appreciate an occasional Belgian beer, I'm not overly fond of them. De Maas, however--Community Beer Works' Belgian Ale--is very flavorful and drinkable, something I can enjoy more than one (or maybe 2) of in a sitting. Their special brews, such as Funkrays American Barleywine and The Soft Bulletin, a very interesting Dark Saison, are always great as well.

They give their spent grain to an urban farming organization called Massachusetts Avenue Project (MAP) to feed thousands of fish in aquaponics systems and are looking for more ways to partner with community organizations.

I drink craft beer almost every single day, and have drank beers from all over the world, often searching for new and exciting concoctions and perfected classics. Community Beer Works' brews are remarkably full of flavor and, with just a few sips, are not to be forgotten.
