West Sixth Brewery is a one story brick building, with blue awnings and small concrete patio. The brewery has windows along the street that look into the brewhouse floor, where its stainless steel brewing vessels and canning line are visible. Street parking is free, and past the main building is a small dedicated parking lot with a grain silo out front. There is no kitchen inside, but a food truck is set up along the front sidewalk. Inside, there is a large tasting room with red brick floors, plenty of benches, a large projection television, and a walk up bar. The brewhouse and its vessels are visible through windows. Adjacent is the main bar room with a 19 chair two sided bar. Behind the bar is simple construction with their tap handles and chalkboards showing their draft list. High ceilings, open space, tile walls, and brick floors all contribute to a loud acoustics and a boisterous atmosphere during peak evening hours. In the main bar area there are many tables and couch for a lounge. The brewery has 6 house beers on tap, which are available by sampler flight. Their beers span a great range from light and drinkable to heavy and flavorful. Their brews include Hefeweizen, Amber, Brown, a nicely hoppy IPA (7.0% abv), a robust Barley Wine (12.0%), and an absolutely delicious Belgian Strong Ale (9.0%). The servers are social and take time to explain the beers. West Sixth is a popular, crowded hotspot with good beer served in an industrial atmosphere.
