Wilmington's Trolley Square area is a food and drink hot spot, popular with local residents. My only complaint about this area is that the beer selection in most places is simply average. A noticeable exception is Scratch Magoo's, which has a nice offering of 7 American craft brews on tap, and about 45 national and import craft beers in bottles. Inside, there is an 11-chair bar and lounge area, and a separate dining room with upscale atmosphere. Outside, there is an enclosed back patio with a small 9-chair grey wooden bar and several patio tables. The service is decent, but can get crowded at peak hours. Scratch Magoo's is a fine happy hour destination with the best beer selection in Trolley Square.
