Why has no one else thought of this?

The perfect name for a brewpub...the Beer Company!

And on a warm, humid summer San Diego day after a ball-game that the local team (The Padres) lost (of course!), it was a welcoming wagon full of good food & grand beer.
With names like Abbey Normal Dubbel ("Young Frankenstein) and Dark Passenger Stout ("Dexter"), the brewers indulge their love of oft-centered ideas in film & television.... and they're all outstanding in taste and flavor layers.

This place is huge with TV's everywhere broadcasting all manner of games BUT (and Thank God for their understanding!) the volume is off. Not sure why most pubs believe that turning TV's & music on and up to level 10 will add to the atmosphere making it impossible to have a conversation of any kind...so thanx for this.

In the back, by the restrooms, is something I've never seen before in all my years...an automated (and pay-per-view) intoxication indicator. Find out just how loaded you are before heading out the door (as if you'd be able to "see" the figures anyway). Grand idea but really guys, it should be free AND mandatory that someone accompany you to help you either get a cab or have another pint.

The food was good and in large portions although beiing just a few blocks from PetCo Park, it was a bit over-priced. Still I'd return...and have...and will again to feed my Dark Passenger and perhaps dream of killing that fat, sweaty, swarthy guy sitting in the booth playing patty-cake with the Dana Delaney look-alike.
