Visited this place recently because I heard it was closing november-december 2007.

It's a bit dumpy, but not without a generous helping of old-world British pub charm. The floors are a little slanty and not entirely clean, lighting is low, and the air is dense with smoke. Books, bottles, and knick-knacks line the back of the bar. The place is rumored to be haunted.

Bartender was prompt and friendly. He said they would be demolishing the building soon, and rebuilding the bar with condos above it. Who knows if they will be able to duplicate the original.

They had Old Speckled Hen on tap, and Sam Smith bottles, but not much else in the way of British ales. Corona was the only beer listed under a "Mexico" heading. Didn't try the food, it was super smoky throughout the place. I'll revisit in a year or so in it's new incarnation.
