This location recently expanded the space devoted to beer, and it is catching up to the Glen Ellyn and Downer's Groves locations in terms of selection. What's more, they get the rare, well-sell-out-quickly stuff, and occasionally they get it before some of the bigger suburban Binny's. Binny'ses? The downside is that more and more people know this, and the popular limited stuff moves very quickly. You can have them hold a bottle (or more, I guess).

That said, it is a relatively cramped Binny's as Binny's go, and staff helpfulness is hit-but-sometimes-miss, and unfortunately, the presence of security and of staff occasionally asking you to check shopping bags does reduce the customer experience a bit. It doesn't happen often, but it happens. I'm sure much of this is in response to actual crime, but the balance of treating the customer as valued tends to suffer.

Prices are fine, and occasionally some stuff is discounted 10-15% with a Binny's card. Bottom line -- great selection these days, good prices, and if you tend to not worry about service and atmosphere, this is a great place to shop. But occasionally, you might feel as if you're not that valued as a customer, or that you're suspected of being a shoplifter.

One of Binny's smaller stores, this one has greatly improved its beer inventory during the past year. It has a very good selection of American craft bombers, a pretty strong and varied Belgian selection, a nice rack of British brews, and many of the best things sitting in the walk-in cooler. One of the beer guys has made it a point to stock some of the really good Baltic beers. The manager, Andrew, is a very helpful guy and will go to work for you finding things you'd like to have. Good place.

Stopped in here after making a trip to Johnnie's Beef.

This was perhaps the most dismal Binny's i've ever been to. The beer selection is at the end of the store farthest from the entrance, and all the craft stuff is wedged into a corner. Things are dusty, and it feels like a beer graveyard a little. There was an endcap with 3 Floyds bombers though, and typical big import selection, but nothing out of the ordinary. Cooler space was limited and split with macros.

Service was nonexistent on the weekend, I think there was a little wine tasting table, nothing for beer. Skip this place and get an i-talian beef down da road, if ya know what's good for ya.

2009:new beer guy, in tune with the beer geeks, service/selection score is up.
