linkThe Yuengling factory in Tampa has a great tour. They take you close enough to the equipment to touch it, which was very unexpected for a big brewery. You get to meet the employees and even their head brew master. Everyone is really friendly and it was a great experience that I wasn't expecting from a large brewery.
The place is really old and the not very "pretty" to look at. They give you full-beer samples at the end of the tour, but of course you don't have too many options with Yuengling. The experience, however, is very fun (and free) and a great way to spend and afternoon.

linkHave to agree with nearly everything tsturniolo says. Friendly people proud of their beer. About the only thing I can add is some pictures. I will say that the Biergarten is more of a welcome center than a beer garden. Also, when I visited there were only 3 styles available for tasting so I didn't get to sample Lord Chesterfield or the Porter. That should not happen. They could at least have offered some bottles. Overall, it was a good experience that I'd recommend to others.

The largest of Yuengling's breweries, this facility offered an outstanding tour. Entering through the Biergarten, I was greeted by friendly staff. A beer fresh from the tap began the tour. Unlike many other brewery tours, this tour went directly through the process within arm's length of the equipment. A fresh batch of lager was boiling in the massive kettle as we walked past. We were also taken past the plant's shipping/receiving, bottling, and quality control. The QC manager was on hand to answer questions as the tour entered his laboratory. I was just amazed at how the tour went through the factory on the same floors the beer is made, instead of a glass tunnel like in other tours. The souvenir shop was also well stocked. The tour finished with another pour.Beers offered: Premium Lager, Lord Chesterfield Ale, Black & Tan, Porter, Premium Light Lager.
I'd rate this as a must-see brewery. Personal attention, in-depth touring, and great quality beer, for FREE!
