Figueroa Mountain Brewing is right at the end of Industrial Way and the neighborhood matches the name (an industrial park at the very edge of town). This is a production brewery housed at one end of a two story gray concrete block building. You won’t have any trouble finding parking here.

The two tasting rooms are a comfortable room in front and a section of the brewery behind, that has been turned into a small bar. On our early visit, we only found people in the brewery, so that is where we spent our time.

The floors are polished concrete. and the ceilings are very high. The wooden bar itself has a corrugated metal base and is roofed in same metal. There are tall wooden tables and dark wood padded chairs, and a bar-height counter along the edge of the space with more of the same chairs that looks directly into the brewery (i.e., no glass).

There is quite a good view of the stainless steel brewery, including the mash-tun and brew kettle and quite a few fermenters.

There were seven house-made beers on our visit: Paradise Road Pilsner, Wrangler Wheat, Danish Red Lager, Figueroa Mountain Pale Ale, Hoppy Poppy IPA, Hurricane Deck Double IPA (great!), Davy Brown Ale, and Stagecoach Stout (oatmeal).

The atmosphere was that of a new business full of enthusiasm and with much local support. We felt quite welcomed.

The only food is a few snacks and complimentary pretzels with mustard. They sell beer to go in growlers, but since this is California you can only fill a growler with their name printed on it (and hence bought here).
