This is a cool small brewery in old downtown Ukiah. They have an upstairs seating area kind of like a loft, and neat Mahogany wood bar and decor. All the beers and food are organic. The first beer I tried was the Pilsner Ukiah, this is a malty yet not real hoppy version of the style, at 6.9% alcohol and an Imperial Czech Pilsner, the alcohol is hidden, tastes like a session beer but I guess it's not. It's an easy drinking beer and is available in cans! The next beer I had was the Yokayo Gold, this is a straw colored ale, somewhat cloudy with a pear like fruitiness and just enough hops to balance. This is another 6.9 % alcohol beer that hides it's strength. The next beer was the Sunhouse Amber. This is a medium bodied malty amber ale, not big on hops but a good beer, gold in color with a medium crystal malt sweetness and just enough hops to balance, I like this beer and could easily order a full pint. The next beer was the Lunar Harvest Ale, a Marzen style with a slightly toasty malty aroma, mmmm this is a good beer too, slightly sweet malt and moderate hops to balance. This is a really good beer and if I wasn't on beer overload on this trip I would get a growler of this beer as Marzen is one of my favorite styles....

The next beer was the Black Bart Belgian. This is a Belgian sour ale with tart, fruity and slightly yeasty notes. These sours beers are not my favorite but this is a good beer. I have never judged these types of beer so I can't really give an educated opinion but I like this place. The next beer was the Liberator, a German bock with deep mahogany color and a slightly sweet maltiness appropriate for style. I'm a real Bock fan and although this one is lite on body and mouthfeel it's still a good beer. The last beer was Coops Stout....this is a really good Extra Foreign stout, slightly sweet stout.

For food I tried some spicy shrimp that were tasty.

This brewery is definitely worth the stop if you are going to Mendocino Brewing company hit this one too. They have glassware and shirts for sale but no coasters. Visited 8/5/2014.
