Uinta is a great place to grab a pint. The beers were all excellent and the atmosphere was great. I had a good time sampling their beers. They also have a small bottle shop where you can buy their stronger, and awesome beers from their crooked line series. They also had just released a double black IPA brewed with hemp seeds that I bought a 4 pack of called Dubhe, which I absolutely love. It's a shame Utah has moronic liquor laws, so they couldn't have this kind of magnificence on tap. They have food, but it's limited to some over priced sandwiches and soups. If you go out of your way to come here, you're not here for the food, right? If you have to go to one brewery in Salt Lake, this is by the far the one to hit up.

This is a wonderful brewery in a standalone building with the brewery and a bar upfront with wood tables and leather chairs and many medals on the wall. The bar is what i call a 180 degree bar. The Hefe is golden yellow and cloudy per style with light clove and banana esters but malty flavor upfront balanced by hops. The light mouthfeel leaves some slight bitterness. Next I had the Blue Sky pilsner which was crystal clear with a fine light creamy white head and low hop aroma. Somewhat dry but malt is evident with some bitterness to balance, a good crisp pils! The Summer organic ale is a straw color and very clear with very light malt aroma. It has a semi dry malt flavor with enough Japanese koriachi hops to balance kind of like a kolsch. The Cutthroat pale ale has some slight crystal malt aroma with moderate hop aroma. Malty with hints of crystal malt and medium hop bitterness. Light for a Pale Ale but well done considering Utah's state laws. Gelande Amber Lager has a light hop and malt aroma with moderate crystal malt flavor and medium light hops. Wyld Extra Pale Ale has some light sweet malt aroma and is very clear with a light gold color. The flavor of this beer is balanced toward sweet with very light munich type malt but enough hop bitterness to sustain. This is a very good beer and goes more toward hops as I drink it! The Malt sweetness was only initial.
The IPA was very clear with a golden color and noticeable hop aroma. The Hop flavor was medium with a medium but smooth mouthfeel. Good hop flavor but more in line with a Pale Ale to us west coast and northwest IPA lovers. Kings Peak Porter has some chocolae malt evident with a dark brown color with hints of mahogany. Tight creamy tan head lingers! This beer had a light roasted and chocolate malt flavor with hops to balance more like an English porter, another good beer. I enjoyed al the beers here and the bartender was friendly. They also have a select your own sandwich menu that comes with chips and is a good deal for the money and is popular with the local lunch time crowd. This Brewery is a Generous participant in the AHA Pub Discount Program :) Well worth the time!

Great Utah Beer Run – Summer 2007
This place had a great beer selection. The food was very nice and we had a great time talking, beer, brewing and Utah beer laws with the Brewer. This is one fun place. Very low key and a tad off the beaten path this was one of the highlights of the trip. I really enjoyed the tour of the brewery and being able to BS about beer with the people there. They had a lot of incite and ideas about beer and how to brew the best beer under such archaic liquor laws.
