After our second visit here we feel confident to say that Trinity is not one of the best. While the beer selection is good, the beer's themselves are not so great. They are true to their styles but they seem to have (what I refer to as) that "dirty line" taste to them - not a clean crisp taste. On a Friday afternoon we had no trouble getting on street, metered parking. The service was good, the food selection is limited. the decor and artwork are unique. Being that it is one of only two brewpubs in Providence, it is worth stopping in.

Trinity is first and foremost a popular bar/restaurant with above-average (but still pub) food. They produce beer in the pub for in-house taps but the bottled stuff is contracted out. Nice woody interior with good afternoon light. At night I prefer the downstairs bar, which is much quieter than the main floor.

What I love about Trinity is they don't shy away from the big-caliber beers. Red Ale drinks much bigger than any other Red I've had, and the delicious RI IPA weighs in around 7% abv. Brown Ale is also excellent (why don't more microbreweries go in for Brown?), and the stout and porter are quite good. I was less impressed with the belgian-style Saison and the Kolsch.

Growlers come pre-filled, which means that selection on growlers is luck of the draw (the brewmaster leaves at the end of the day friday and selection dwindles throughout the weekend). They'll take back only their growlers for exchange. This gets you a $2 credit, miserly in my opinion since the filled growlers cost $13-15.

There is parking (a large surface lot across the street), as long as you're not here on a waterfire night, during which all of downtown gets pretty much parked out. If you get desperate you can park in the Prov Place Mall ($1 for 3 hours) and walk 5 mins down the hill to Trinity.

Located in downtown Providence - be sure to have quarters for meters, there is no where to park in lots nearby. Also the meters do not accept credit cards.

Overall the beer selection was good - the porter on cask sort of tasted like black licorice. The stout was very smooth and quite drinkable. They had about 10 selections on tap.

The menu was as expected for a New England brewpub, normal brewpub food but with a New England twist, seafood and shell fish added into a number of dishes.

Located in Downtown providence, Trinity is one of the only brew pubs in the city. They have a great selection of beers, and all are brewed on site. Including a cask ale served on their beer engine. Their food is very good and on the higher end of what you normally think of when bar food is mentioned. The Brewer's Burger is an absolute mess of a burger but is as delicious as it is prone to fall apart. They sell their IPA in liquor stores throughout the area, it is quite refreshing and a great accompaniment to any of their burgers.

The decor is all dark woods with ample artwork spread out through the bar. If you show up on a Tuesday you can join in on the trivia downstairs. Be prepared for in street parking which can be difficult to find at night, during the day be prepared with change for the meters.
