I lived in Boise for a few years and never made it to Table Rock so when I had the chance this past summer I stopped in. Was it the same I am not sure. Was there something missing not sure? As I walked in I saw this huge open pub with a huge tap and lots of brewing equipment in the background. I had a nice pub lunch and the TV’s where going crazy with soccer. I got the sample tray and had some good beers, great beers and some that needed help. I am so glad I finally got to stop here. A nice stop in the middle of town. Good brew pub feel. Kids are ok and they have WIFI.

Table Rock - not just a landmark anymore! I used visit Table Rock more frequently a couple of years ago, but the beer prices eventually drove me away.

They have decided (rightly so) to introduce a happy hour and late night special to remedy that situation. This is an excellent time to visit Table Rock! They serve 20 oz pints so they are normally more expensive than other local brews. But at Happy Hour (3-6PM) or Late Night (9PM-Close) these huge pints are only $3.25!

They serve a top-notch IPA (Hopzilla) which was unfortunately out on my last visit. They also offer some excellent seasonal brews, if you can catch them (OSB, Stimulator Stout, MacLobie's). They tend to offer beers on the lighter color and body/mouthfeel end of the spectrum. They do not have a regular stout or porter recipe. Every Friday they will put one keg of special brew on nitro until it's gone.

The food is fantastic! They have the best battered fries in town. The Killer Bread is good enough to make you want to eat it until it kills you. The club sandwich is exceptional, though oddly their burgers aren't as good as some other local places. They also offer the only selection of British food I've seen in the valley. By all reports it's very good, but I haven't tried it yet. I've been to England, eaten the food, then profoundly understood why you don't see "English" restaurants in the US. However, if you are craving Bangers and Mash, you can get it here. The food is priced very affordably, even if it wasn't located downtown.

The service is professional, with many friendly people staffing the restaurant. Most a pretty knowledgeable about the beer.

The atmosphere is just what you'd expect from a good brewpub. Comfortable and clean, it avoids the pitfalls of many places that can feel dingy or cheesy. Note they have outdoor seating with a smoking section.

I look forward to spending a lot more time here from now on!

2011 Update - While the location took a minor slump late '09 - early '10, it is back in full force now with top quality beers! The ubiquitous Amarillo hops shortage - the main hop used in Hopzilla - resulted in the legendary Hopzilla IPA going on hiatus. They would rather do that than alter the recipe; a true mark of brewing integrity. So now they have introduced "Hopocalypse" IPA, a new brew using the hop bursting technique that comes in around 125 IBU! But it is a remarkably balanced (albeit HUGE) beer. Come try it out!

Note, I was back in Bosie march 2010 and went to the Table Rock, I found the beer and food had both slipped a notch. 2 beers showed signes of infection and/or dirty lines

Orignal review:

The Table Rock is tucked away on a short side street. Use the public parking lot, as street parking is almost nonexistent.

They have kind of a different layout. This is a modern take on the brewpub style. There is 30' green vinyl and wood topped bar that seats about 20. There are some really nice long tables to share. I like the high ceilings, but could have done with out the suspended tile look. I also like the nice large skylight/transoms. The Table Rock has stained concrete floors and makes a lot of use of blond wood, black surfaces and stainless steel.

The brewing equipment is behind and left of the bar. They also have a small patio as you enter.

Lots of TVs, would be a good place to catch a game. Nice tunes primarily 60 and 70s r&b and classic rock.

During my visit they were offering 9 house beers. I liked what I tried. Bartender said the IPA is the big seller. $4.50 for an imperial pint with happy hour pricing of only $2.75 (Tuesdays & Thursdays 4:30 to 6:30). They also offer growlers and kegs to go (1/2 barrels for $98 and ¼’s for $56) I think that is a good deal for beer of this quality!

Service was Western USA friendly. I did not try the food or even really look at the menu, but a lot of the patrons were eating.
