The Swashbuckler Brewery is an integrated part of the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire, which I first visited in 2011. The Faire is an entertaining festival very much worth attending, and Swashbuckler beer stations can be found throughout the grounds. The ales themselves are average quality, and my favorites were the Blackwater Stout and India Pale Ale. A sampler was not offered, so trying all 5 required a fair bit of beer-drinking throughout the afternoon! The Faire is for folks of all ages, and many attendees dress in costumes or medieval attire. Although a couple of the comedy shows are specifically for adults, the rest of the fair is a great family event. When I revisited in 2015, the Faire was just as good, and the Swashbuckler Brewery had expanded to a larger building just outside the main entrance. The brewing vessels are visible through the large windows. Plan for a fun day, watching the Faire shows and sipping a variety of beers. Be sure to check the website for price & open dates.
