Recently opened Brewery outside of Mount Vernon, WA. A bit off the beaten path but worth the trip, especially for those who like bold beers. On my fist visit, accompanied by two beer loving friends, there were eight of their own brews on tap. The three of us started with IPAs, One had the X-Batch Magnum IPA and two had the To Hell in a Hop Basket Imperial IPA. X-batch was a medium bodied 8.0 % ABV brew while the To Hell Imperial is very hoppy, delicious brew but 10.7% ABV. We had two sampler trays in order to get a taste of the other brews, X-Batch Bitter, Hop chops IPA, Slainte Stout, Bitter RAin ESB, Cherry Wheat and Big R Imperial Red. The Big R was a malty brew that I typically am not too fond of but had a good dose of Chinook hops to balance the malt (also 9.1% ABV).
There is ample parking for the place but very limited indoor seating. It was dark and raining when we were there so I didn't take notice if there was any outdoor seating. Indoors, the bar had about four stools and there were about four or five small tables. Food is limited to pretzels, chips and nuts.
The barmaid was efficient and seemed to be beer savvy. One of the other employees was at the bar and added some insight to the startup operation.
They are off to a great start and we will return. I hope the succeed.
