I visited here in the fall and sat at the bar and tried a few of their beers. As others have said, their brown ale (Grizzly I think) was pretty decent as was their ESB. Due to the fact that I was merely passing by (Ok - maybe I went a little out of my way to visit) I only tried those two beers. I didnt eat but looked at the menu and it seemed pretty standard stuff.

I nice little place in a great little town in the foothills of the Sierras. I'll be back again.

Snowshoe Brewing is a nice little brewery located in mountains of eastern California. If you headed up to do some fishing or hiking this is a great place to stop either before or after or both. The building is located on a golf course which provided for the view out the windows. The large bar in the center of the place is the focal point of the restaurant. They also have high-top tables surrounding the bar are and regular table along the edge of building. It’s a very cozy atmosphere that makes you want to enjoy their brews. The food that I had was pretty good. Typical brewery type foods are on the menu.

Now for the beers! They had seven different micros on tap last time I stopped by. Apparently five are normal and two were seasonal. My father-in-law swears by the Snoweizen Wheat Ale. I can’t leave the place without picking up Growler full. I’ll stick with the Grizzle Brown. It is excellent brown ale and I highly suggest it. All their beers were very good.

If you’re headed up into the mountains of California and pass through Arnold stop by Snowshoe Brewing company and have a drink for me.

This little brewery is situated on a rather cheesy golf course but has a nice outside area and is a great place to grab a brew in the mountains. The air is fresh and the beer likewise. I personally enjoyed the Grizzly Brown Ale. Probably my favorite all time brown in California thus far. Similar to Newcastle with a hint more hops. Quite refreshing if you like a malty beer. The ESB is also decent.

There is a large central bar and tall tables that provide views onto the Meadowmont golf course. Additional table seating is next to the brew room and there are also a few tables outside (summer season) next to a compact miniature golf area. The tap list includes six standards and there were two additional seasonals when I visited. I enjoyed the ESB (Extra Special Blizzard?) and the seasonal porter. The menu includes a range of starters and salads, sandwiches, pizza, pasta and dinner entrees. There is good size parking lot serving the golf course and restaurant.
