If you take the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad trip, make sure to stop at the brewery. Located in the old western town of Silverton (no paved streets or sidewalks) the brew/pub is small but has a lot of atmosphere. The beer selection is limited. Had their IPA, but it was weak on the hops tasted more like a very pale ale. The chili was good and they served a number of varities. It is worth the stop if your in town but I would not go out of my way for the beer.

This place is a must see just for the drive to get there. A great stop off when driving from Durango to Ouray on the millon dollar highway.

Silverton is throwback to the old mining heydays of Colorado. The brewery is in a mainstreet store front. You can't see the brewing equipment from the bar area.

I tried the pale ale and it was quite good. Also tasted my girlfriends dark beer (don't remember if it was a porter or stout) and it was good also.

I had the lunch special that day which was a Frito Pie and one beer for a reasonable price. (5 or 6 bucks). The food was good for what it was.
