Not sure what was up with the previous reviews, but the bull dog has it right now. Best beer selection in the St. Paul area. Casual and friendly staff. I had a Kwak and it tasted fresh and good. I also had a wonderful Beligian inspired IPA from a new local brewer: Harriet Brewing. I didn't expect the beer list to be totally up to date as good beer turns over fast. But selections were ample. About the only style I couldn't find was a smoked beer. If you want a snack, try the tater-tots. Lots of flavors to choose from.

The Bulldog was so promising when they opened their first location. It was always packed, always noisy, but that's because it was fun and popular.

Then they opened another location. And another location. The service went in the toilet. All the locations are brutally noisy, and that's just from conversation.

At my last couple experiences at different Bulldogs, the service was so bad, it was insulting. At my last visit (and I do mean my LAST visit) the place was nearly empty, there were several waitresses on duty, and I still had to go to the bar for a beer. After waiting close to 10 minutes to serve myself, I got a delicious beer filtered through a dirty tap line.

Sorry, Bulldog. You were great while you held it together.
