This brewery is in an Old building in Downtown Salmon. They had a generous sampler of 8 beers about 4 ounces each for $6.50. The Lost Trail Amber had some crystal malt sweetness and was light hopped but well balanced. The Hazlenut beer was good and had a syruppy aroma. The hazelnut taste was creamy and malty and somewhat sweet but not cloying. The Summer ale was copper in color and much like a mild with a medium light body and a light malt sweetness and low hops. They had a seasonal beer that was made with huckleberrys which are much like raspberries in aroma and flavor. The Pale ale was much like Sierra Nevada's but not quite as hoopy. The Mt. Borah brown ale is dark copper and somewhat sweet but was typical of a good brown ale. The Savage IPA was bitter and hoopy but more like a Pale ale, it had some moderate bittering but not big hop aroma or flavor. The Sacajawea Stout was sweet and coffee like with moderate bitterness, a good stout but not outstanding. The french fries were very good, my kids loved tham. The burgers were generous half pound and tasty. The food was generally very good. They had a nice salad bar also. The restaurant part is up front and the brewery or bar is in the back. They collect growlers from different breweries so if you have one you want to take with you and donate they would gladly accept it. They had no coasters :(
