We first visited it on August 16, 2001 on the recommendation of my son who has visited it a number of times. Knowing how much we enjoy trying out new beer places he recommended Tavern on Liberty. It had a huge selection of domestic microbrew and imported bottled beers—well in excess of 100. The selection of beer on draft was more mundane but still included a few microbrews. The person who served us was knowledgeable about both the bottled beers and the draft beers. We were there in the middle of the afternoon so staff may have been limited but he seemed divided between the kitchen and customer area. I wondered later if he might have been the owner. There was a bartender who was serving customers at the bar.
The food was excellent. Po’boy was succulent and meat filled. I am told that the Not Knots were to die for.
The atmosphere is small neighborhood bar. There is a separate nonsmoking room. Both rooms had several wall mounted big screen TVs. There is no off street parking.

This place is literally the BEST place to drink beer in the greater Allentown area. Relaxed atmosphere, above average food, great deals, and cheap beers for those looking to save some money, but also over 200 bottles and over ten taps of beers that are fancy enough for even the most elitist of beer snobs. Bottom line: go here and you will never be disappointed with the close, cozy atmosphere and delicious brews aplenty- you simply cannot go wrong!
