Arguably the best beer bar in Bethlehem, The Bookstore is owned by the same people as the Tap and Table in Emmaus. It's definitely a quality over quality place, as far as taps are concerned. It has about six rotating beers on draught, all of which are interesting and hard to find. It has an extremely large and impressive list of bottles from all over the world.

Food is also excellent, but the real draw of the place is the atmosphere. Totally gaslit and reminiscent of a 1920s speakeasy, there is no cooler place in the Lehigh Valley. The bartenders always know about the beer, but it can get crowded on weekend nights and is probably not the place to go if you're in a hurry for a quick pint. Rather, it's a fantastic place to spend an evening (if you can afford it).

Since it opened late last year, it's become probably the hottest spot in Bethlehem, and there are many nights when the small subterranean space fills up. When that happens, you can get turned away or forced to wait for people to leave.
