linkLondon's beer geek central, The Rake is a tiny bar around the corner from Borough market and owned by the same people as the market's Utobeer stall (qv).
The décor is bright and clean, with signatures on the walls from many of the world's celebrity brewers. The main bar room has a couple of small high tables, while those in need of a proper seat will need to make do with the large heated patio.
Beneath the "No Crap On Tap" sign, there is a modest but very carefully chosen range of cask and keg beers. On my visit they included Cantillon Gueuze, Schlenkerla Maerzen, Racer 5 IPA and Dark Star Coffee Stout.
The bottled range is immense and varied, with rarities from BrewDog a particular specialty.
On the down side, service has been reported as occasionally brusque (though I didn't find it so), it gets very crowded, and prices are pretty high.
Still -- very much one of London's must-drinks.
