Once upon a time, something in the 'a year ago' range, this place was well known to have bad beer. THAT HAS CHANGED! They are now serving very good beer, some of it is great even. They hired a new brewmaster, formerly brewing at Kannah Creek, and he is good at his job. The selection of house-brewed beers is good, with 6-9 on-tap any given day. The newest member of the permanent line-up is Horsetheif IPA, a well-built representation of the style in the West-coast vein. Other offerings worth noting include the Local Harvest Saison, brewed with ingredients sourced from nearby, including a strain of yeast cultivated by the brewer himself from right in Mesa county, and hops from less than 20 miles away. Another good one is the Black Bear Stout. It is a big, dark beer with a smooth mouthfeel. I have heard good things about the Raspberry Wheat and the Kokopelli Cream ale too.

Food is OK but not great and it is a bit pricey by comparison to other local choices. Service ranges, as it does in most places, but is usually OK and I don't think it has ever been lousy.

The atmosphere is much like a sports-bar on the bar side and a family restaurant on the dining room side. There is a back patio, where I believe smoking is permitted, that is accessed from the back of the bar area.

Rockslide is a much improved brewpub over its former self. I recommend it.

I spent a long night of drinking here with some friends on the way through Grand Junction. I don't believe Rockslide is a chain restaurant, but it gives off that chain vibe. The building is real nice. It was very crowded, and there was some musical talent show going on out back (high points for comic relief).

The beer was nothing memorable. It's definitely not a top notch microbrew, but I don't think they're really catering to beer connoisseurs... which is odd considering they're in Colorado.

Our first stop in Colorado after a breathtaking drive around there awesome National Park. The place was an old brick building in the middle of town. We where greeted with great service and the food was not bad. Watch out they think fiery hot wings are mild so take note the food was HOT. The beer was also not too bad a tad watery but not bad for after a long drive. We liked the main bar with the HD TV’s and the Monday night football on. This was a nice place and just a average Brew Pub lots of going-ons there all the time. The staff is not super knowledgeable of the beer. They are of the PBR crowd.
