linkLoosely based on a Bavarian beerhall, Magister is still very Spanish in its fondness for high seating, the preparation of food behind the bar, and the tapas menu. Each beer entitles you to an item from the ten-piece tapas menu posted on the blackboards.
There are generally at least three beers -- a blonde, a red and a rotating seasonal. Quality is so-so, with the novelty factor seemingly more important than the actual product.
Service is quite surly, though at least prompt, and prices are rather on the high side.
A place to stop for a quick sample and snack before moving on to venues in the area.
