I like the Bristol. They've got about 6 taps and a fairly extensive bottle list. The taps are all solid choices with no macrobrew available. They have usually had a Surly product and there has always been a Goose Island beer available on tap.

The main reason for going to the Bristol is for the food. They have a lot of dishes that are perfect for sharing and so far I have been very happy with what I have ordered. The Half Acre cheese spread, the duck fat fries and the heirloom apple salad have been my favorites so far.

I would suggest you meet your date at the Map Room for a pint or two and then you take a short stroll up Damen for a few small plates at the Bristol. Parking is street only, Damen is metered in this area, but you can usually find something within a block or two. They do have valet.
