Hop Valley Brewing Company, Eugene, Oregon.

This is an interesting brewery just a little off the beaten path. The owners must be Frisbee Golfers as they sell disks. Its a fairly large brewery with many big fermenters and bright tanks, a tasting room, large patio, small kitchen and restaurant seating area. they sell bottled and canned beer on premise. This another of those Oregon BRewries that let you pick your sampler and how many. The first beer I had was the Alphadelic IPA, this is a moderate IPA with a citrus nose and moderate hop flavor that lingers, this is a good IPA. The next beer was the Proxima IPA that you can get in bottles as well. This beer is a slightly darker and has a sweeter maltiness and less hop bitterness, a very good beer even if on the lighter side for an IPA. The next beer was the Alpha Centauri Bibary IPA, this is an imperial IPA that doesn't come off like a big imperial but has a good lingering hop bitterness, this is a good beer as well, I could drink several if I didn't have to drive....
The next beer was the Citrus Mistress IPA, this beer has a really nice balance of malt and hops with slight lingering hops in the finish. They sell this beer in six-packs on site. The next beer was the Step Child Red, this is a malty NW Red ale with a nice hop profile and a sneaky Alcohol by volume rating. The last beer I tried was the Bohemian Dub hop, this beer has some biscuit malt for a different flavor that is really good, it has some nice lingering hop bitterness but not the harsh type. I like this brewery, the beers were all good and the atmosphere is good, lots of outdoor seating.

I did not try the food here but the beer is certainly worth the stop. They sell pint glasses and have coasters for you collectors.....

I went to Hop Valley with my buddy and wife a few nights ago. We had dinner and a couple of pints. The restaurant atmosphere was typical. Food was well above normal. Far too may beers on the menu to remember (about 12?). I had their new release Stout, which was light for my taste (but it was at an introductory price of $3 a pint - can't really beat that). My wife had the Imperial Red, which was very good.

The Vanilla Porter was also at the table for a couple of pints. I've had the beer prior at another bar serving their brews & in a 22, so I knew the beer. One of my buddy's favorites, but not mine. I think the vanilla is too strong and tastes like extract.

Otherwise, it was a fantastic evening and the food was awesome - I love good cajun fries!

Hop Valley is located in a large cinder block building (largely clad in brick) in a generic business hotel part of town just off the highway (Interstate 5). They serve up some very tasty brews and are a worthy visit.

There are six regular brews on tap. The brewer is experienced and it shows in the quality. The Alphaholic IPA was quite good.

The brewery mash tun and brew kettle are visible through glass windows as you enter.

The space is mostly restaurant seating - some booths and a lot of tables - and is in a fairly generic style. There’s also a separate bar area that includes a small outdoor section with metal tables and chairs. The decorations are black & white historical photos of hop cultivation, i.e., growing hops, picking them, packaging them, etc. Hops were once grown commercially in this area, possibly even including at or very near the pub’s current location.
