Went out to Pillager's Pub last night to try out some of Baron Brewing's beers. It's a nice new pub in the Greenwood part of Seattle not far from Green Lake. The parking was horrible but that's to be expected in this part of the city unless you get lucky and you are able to get a spot on the street. The buses do run down to this part of town often and that's not a bad option. They have a nice sitting area out front by the sidewalk and inside they have a nice bar. They also have some community picnic style seating that I always enjoy, it makes it easy to meet new people.

The beers were middle of the road as far as I was concerned which is why I gave the selection rating a 3. They do have a good selection with house beers and some guest taps but nothing was terrific. Plus one of the guest taps had a beer from the Ram on it, come on they can do better than that! I tried the Pillager's Pale and found it weak, the IPA that I would classify as a Pale Ale, a black IPA from cask that must have been in the 20-30 IBU range, and a Kolsch that was pretty solid for that category.

We didn't have any food but it looked like good bar food and the service was good. If this bar was in my neighborhood we would probably be regulars because we don't have any good bars by us but in the Greenwood neighborhood they have plenty of great options so I'd love to see Pillager's step up their beer offerings.
