The beer is good. 10 taps of their own + 10 guest taps. This is a downscale, kick back & relax environment. Absolutely nothing pretentious here. It seems to be a collection of old, semi-refurbished farm buildings. Several dogs were wandering around during our visit. Burgers & game sausages were being served out back by a different set of DOGs (t-shirts emblazoned with Decrepit Old Geezers). There was a bluegrass band performing later during the day we stopped by. We worth a visit. Only 15 minutes from downtown Asheville.

Agree with the signage comment as we drove by it first time. Wasn't open at first so did a quick tour of Back Mt. Quaint with a strange state hospital of some sort and the former home of Black Mt. college. Famous for the beat writer history. When opened sat at the tap room bar. cool with some kitchy decorations. Small stage and a bus tour was happening. No sampler available but the house brews were reasonably priced (they did let you taste). Well made brews with some unusual entries including a bacon stout and a cherry belgium ale that was not overly fruity. lot of the tour came and they were drinking a lot of a stout/cherry blend- not my cup of tea but well rec'd. several guest taps including a local cider-real good on the dry side. I had a IPA-more of a east coast english style. The pale as tasty-crisp and fresh. Wife got bacon stout-different and bacon gave a smokey but not very bacony flavor. Well made brews and good selection. Gear was sparse but got a nice zippered hoodie. Service was pleasant but busy with the bus tour. Stayed for a tour and was well done by enthusiastic guide who patiently answered all questions. Worth the trip and in summer they have an outdoor stage for some music-cool. Did have chips from a local chip boutique.

As with almost all breweries I go to, this place needs a little better signage. I parked were the other cars where and then began just wondering around and finally I heard the voices of happy people I said that must be the place. As it was a warm afternoon the place was fairly busy. Several groups were sitting outside enjoying the day. We went into the bar area and looked at the wall of taps they had about 10 of there own beers and 10 or so from others. There was a projection TV showing college b-ball and this was a huge screen, a great place to watch the games. My daughter and I really enjoyed our time here. They do have chips available for purchase but we did not try any of them although we did see several people buying them. I have always said that bacon makes everything better and it truly does. This is one brewery I will visit again. Well I visited again and there was a food truck near the outside sitting area and we got some bar-b-que and chips it was a nice addition. this is a great place

In a warehouse in an industrial park. I visited to see Great American Taxi play. Cool music venue and nice tap selection. Guest taps were quality and nicely priced. One bartender was a little surly, but otherwise the Pisgah folks were great.

I had the fresh hop, the IPA, and the nitro stout. The stout was actually this hophead's favorite.

There was a fire going outside and they had a pizza vendor on wheels outside selling pies. Great music and great beer seals the deal for me, this place rocks. Very taper-friendly, so I got to practice my new audio recording hobby.

Why the heck hasn't this place been reviewed?

While I have been to Pisgah many times, the tap room was new to me. The place touts 25 drafts, mostly their own and many which are special releases which cannot be found anywhere else or were only available elsewhere for a short period of time. No food, only some pretzels and no AC so enjoy that cool mountain air. Tons of seating at the time of my last visit and they do growler fills. Only one caveat, the place is CASH ONLY so leave the CC at home and bring the wallet. All the beer prices are clearly marked and the guest taps are well marked on the mirrors as well.

Gosh I wish I was there right now!
