welllll now to my favoriate of the nc up and comming breweries. this place started small and fast, moving on up at recoard pase. from there true to style heff start to there newer hophead pale addation (porter and brown also) this place has some fukin great stuff. the head brewer is 24 and has a degree in zymergy or some crap-- he is truely a pro-homebrewer or a homebrewer with a brewery. very nice guy and i expect to see him in the craft beer game in a big way here soon. the marketing of this place is top notch- clearly taking there tacticts from big boss and adding an approchable (newly errected) bar area to the entrance. the beers all cost the same 3$ a pint and are free on there FREE tours (now limeted to 2 free ones) open thursday, friday, and saturday for drinks (limited hours) this is not a brew pub but a brewery with a small bar stuck onto it.

bottom line-- the place is great, get there before it grows , i can only expect some great seasonals and higher end beers in the near future.

o yeah, and there brew it foward comp is sweet- if your a homebrewer look into it

A really great scene at LoneRider Brewery. They have 4 beers now:

1. Shotgun Betty, Their staple Hefe/Wheat beer
2. DeadEye Jack, Porter
3. Sweet Josie, Brown Ale (seasonal)
4. Peacemaker Pale Ale, still tweaking but it's great.

All four are outstanding! LR is just now getting a strong presence in the Ral/Durham market - growlers of their beer is at Weaver St. market now.

Brewery tours are free! The owners are great guys, laid back, and very personable.

It sounds like they're going to have a pretty innovative membership program pretty soon.

Overall, my favorite brewery in NC!

A fairly new establishment to Raleigh, opening in early 2009. As of this review, they have 2 beers. A German style Hefe and a pretty solid Porter. Both are excellent beers for their styles. The brew tour is excellent and costs less than 10 bucks (8?). You pretty much get as many beers as you want on the tour, and any questions you might have can be answered by the guys there. I hope that they will soon have more than 2 beers, but it is nice to see that they didn't immediately go for "crowd-pleasing" Lagers or Blonde Ales.
