The Hulmeville Inn is a terrific beer bar with a great selection. It's home to the ALEiens Home brew club and also the home bar and sponsor of the 2010 and 2011 Philly Beer Geek winners.
Selection was great, there were several beers that I would've had. I only had time for one, so I went with the Founders Breakfast Stout which was a good call.
I didn't get a chance to speak with the bartenders much, they were setting up for a BBQ that afternoon, but in the little bit that I interacted with them, it appeared that they knew their stuff and could help out with finding something you'd like.
I didn't try any of the food, so I can't comment on it, but they did have a small menu of mostly bar-food.
The Hulmeville Inn seriously stepped up their beer a few years ago, and continue to: they just got a beer engine last week after running firkin on the bar for some months. It's a bar, not a restaurant: the food's okay, but it's not the main reason you're there. It's the beer, and they get beers that will surprise you, given the location in a tucked-away blue collar little town, across from the firehall. It's an easy drive for me, and I'm finding myself down there more often all the time. Don't like the smoking, but that's just me; the beer's worth it.
