The food was excellent and the atmosphere great, but the beer selection was mediocre at best. The food is the highlight and being a smokehouse very wll done with their meats. The quality of the beer was decent but lacked character. Do they only brew british ales? I would go back for the food but certainly not the beer, which is the whole point to a brewpub. If you want better beer with the same quality food go to their other brewpub in the short north.

Barley's Brewpub / Ale House No. 2, more commonly referred to as The Smokehouse, is a great stop for all brewpub enthusiasts. Nearly every aspect of this business is great from the brews, to the food, and ending with the service and atmosphere.

I highly recommend anything on Cask. Especially the Alexander's Russian Imperial Stout. Very good for the style.

If you are up for some great food and brews, you need to make this a must stop location. You will not be dissapointed!
