Went there on their "grand opening" of the new location. Aviator has been around a while and this new place is definitely a step up from the old. Basically a brewery with a pretty large tasting area. Hours they are open are variable so check the web site, or sign up for their email list. Great beer selection and range of talents from their brewer(s). Had their ESB, California Common and Red and liked them all.If memory serves they have a couple more Belgium selections, a big stout, and a couple more choices I can't recall available also. You won't go wrong with whichever choice you make!

The website boasts 14 different beers to choose from, and while I haven't had all of them, the 6 or so I've tried have left me nothing less than completely satisfied. No matter what style I've tried, I can honestly say Aviator has near the best I have ever had. To make this wonderful selection and quality of beer even more appealing is the addition of a new tap house.
The original is in a hangar on a small airstrip. The atmosphere there is friendly and inviting. It is also the site of the brewery/brewery tour. The occasional small plane taking of and landing adds to the environment. The new tap house (opened late Sept 09) is located in downtown Fuquay Varina at an old train station. The bar is surrounded by slow-moving traffic (car and foot) as well as an occasional train. They only serve Aviator beer on tap, and that's fine with me. This beer is worth the 20 min drive if you are ever driving through Raleigh.

I went here when visiting during the holiday season and it was one of the highlights of my trip. They have limited hours so check the web site -- it was only open from 4-8 a few nights a week back then. The owner/brewer was pouring the night we went. It was a really friendly crowd. He had two beers on that night, an ESB and a Red, I think. Both were delicious. Aviator will be a regular haunt when I move to the Raleigh area next month.

Absolutely, the best beer in NC! Brewed horizontally and open to the air the craft brews this place is making are seriously, second to none. If you are flying into Raleigh you owe it to yourself to go check this place out! I loved the bourbon barrel ale from a few weeks back and there is a seriously, delicious stout on tap right now. This brewery has ruined me of all of brews...I just can't find anything to compare to the body these brews have.
