Main Street Brewery in Pleasanton, a little hard to fond the first time there. This is a more casual brewpub with a more open floor plan, kind of like a converted restaurant. The restaurant was quite busy on a friday night. Seemed like a lot of locals were here and it was hard to get a table. The place had no logo pint glasses and no coasters. We had the Train Wreck IPA which was bitter but had a major sour lactic taste. It was big on hops but had a metallic flavor, that I have seen before on some hoppy ESB's. We did not try the food. The "restaurant" part of the brew pub was about 6 tables only, but you tell from the crowd this is a popular local joint. Sorry i didn't give it my usual thorough review.....

Located in the Cheese Factory building, Main St has a large dining area with a U-shaped bar toward the back with some additional tall tables. There is also table seating out front on a covered patio on the sidewalk. Of the 16 taps, only 4 were house brews when I visited but those cover a fair range of styles. I enjoyed Train Wreck IPA and Double Moca Porter. The remaining taps included a mix of regional crafts and imports. The menu includes a good array of burgers and sandwiches as well as some fish and south of the border selections. We parked on the street but there is also a small lot out back.

This is my favorite place to go for a good beer. Their Train Wreak IPA is outstanding. The staff is friendly and it's always clean. Proper glassware also. Good selection of draft beers. Owner has shown beers at Kona Beer Fest in Hawaii. Good parking, also. Live music on Friday and Saturday nights with a lively and respectful crowd. Get there early for a seat. Food is good but not outstanding. Try the Guinness Gouda Burger.
