I always enjoy a beer bar that features several local breweries. This is a great stop in that it serves primarily Iowa craft brews along with a few imports to compliment the Mexican menu. Two taps plus a half dozen bottled styles make up the craft menu. I enjoyed both an Olde Main Off Kilt er Scottish and a Hub City Olde Browne porter. We were looking forward to meeting Izzy (J.) and it was nice that he made time for us despite having to feed the late lunch crowd. We even shared in an experiment to enhance a Raccoon River Stonecutter stout by pressing it through oak chips that had been soaked in whiskey for a few days. The resultant WOA Stout (Whiskey Oak Augmented) was quite tasty with a distinct flavor similar to barrel aged stouts. The burritos and salsas (we preferred Ace) were great and the deserts (key lime pie and a family recipe(s) chocolate cake) were exceptional. It’s a nice brick building with friendly staff, a relatively small dining area with table seating and little bar space. Parking was pretty easy on the street. I’m already looking forward to our next visit to my Iowa relatives so we can return to Electric Burrito.
