linkThe Bray branch pre-dates all the other Porterhouses, from before they even had a brewery. As a result it's a little more ordinary than the others -- noteworthy for having macrobeer taps alongside the house craft brews and the wide selection of bottles, but no cask ale.
For such a grand Victorian building the inside is quite dark and poky, the low ceiling making it almost oppressive. I'm sure it's quite cosy on winter nights, but this pub was not built for winter, nor for sitting inside.
Out front there's a huge beer garden overlooking the promenade and, beyond it, the Irish Sea.
For those warm summer afternoons there is simply no better pub seat in Ireland.
