Growler Craft Brewery is indeed located inside a Figaros Pizza. This is the only brewery in this small California wine town. That makes in unique in my book. Murphy’s is a little mountain with about 30 winery tasting rooms located on its one mile main street. I’m guessing that the brewery was opened to give the men something to taste after the ladies enjoy the winery run.
It’s a very modern location. As you walk into the front doors you’re graced with a view of the bar and the brewing area. The place is very well lit and an excellent place to take a family. The food is typical Italian/pizzeria style food. I had the calzone, which was pretty good. They had a pretty good selection of beers on tap, about six. All had good flavor. The porter was probably the best in my opinion. All and all it’s a nice place to enjoy a few beers after a day of wine tasting.
The Growler Craft Brewery is co-located with a recently opened Figaro’s pizza parlor. There is a good size bar looking into the modern and bright brew room. Additional table seating and outside patio is shared with the restaurant. There were six house brews on tap when I visited including a good range of styles. I especially enjoyed the Irish Stout and the Rauch. Both the server and owner/brewer were friendly and eager to discuss their special brews. The menu is typical Figaro’s pizza with appetizers and salads plus Sargo’s subs. There is ample parking in the adjacent lot.
