linkIf it wasn't for the beer, you would swear you were in Belgium. Mutton Lane is a tiny ramshackle pub down a Brusselsesque alley between Patrick Street and the English market. The rickety furnishings give the impression of a pub that's being supported by the close-surrounding buildings. It's dark and quiet and extremely cosy.
There's no food, but if the English Market is open the staff don't mind if you bring in a gourmet treat from one of the wonderful food stalls. Three Franciscan Well taps provide something with which to wash it down.
Well worth stopping at.

linkLocated down a side street, Patrick Street, this is a great location for an escape from the shops. It usually has a fairly cool vibe with candles on the tables etc., and has the Franciscan Well brews on tap (Red, Weisse, Stout, Blonde). It also has some imports (Belgian etc.). At night it can get very crowded with a student crowd who tend to overflow into the lane itself. An "old timer" like me prefers it during the day when it is quieter.
