"Bright and airy" is presumably the brief given to the designer when The Florence was being done up: huge south-facing windows look out into the street on two sides and high banquette seating ensures that the customers get the full benefit of the light. The d├ęcor is modern yet understated, in a classy, muted, shaker sort of way. The bar is in the middle and a small brewery sits behind glass in the corner. There's a patio out back for the smokers.

Two house beers are on tap: Bonobo: an English bitter, and Weasel: a pale and hoppy golden ale. Both are of first rate quality.

The menu is a cut above regular pub food and the service is excellent.

Good beer, good food, good atmos, good service. Well worth the trip out of central London.
