linkGar Woods has a limited selection of regional micros but it's location makes it a nice place to drop in and enjoy the lake. It is located around Carnelian bay from Sierra Boat Works which is home to many classic wooden pleasure craft including the restaurant's namesake. The signature drink is the Wet Woody (also from the boat) which is a frozen rum drink with many double entendre variations. Beers include Fat Tire and SN Pale Ale plus a few additional seasonals.
There is a comfortable bar with high tables and seating near a fireplace. In the summer however, it's the deck seating overlooking the lake, bay and pier that draws the crowds. It is also right next to a lake shore public pathway and parking area.
The menu is upscale and pricy with lots of unusual appetizers, sandwiches, and entrees. There is a kid's menu and a nice Sunday brunch.
