well, the first of the triangle breweries i came across-- truly got me into the brewery visiting mood. a more than attainable set-up in an old warehouse producing high-end quality beers. i like the place, the brewery is a fun saturday afternoon- but the beers are hit and miss. there benchmark "belgin" golden is sad to say the least-- at first taste it was more than drinkable went down easy and 8%, but after a few too many it is the type of beer that you dont want to have again. made with too damn much candy sugar and some white domino sugar- this is an expensive beer that lost its integrity. (sorry to be so critical there, it very much did the opposite of growing on me) there xtra pale is boring and reminisant of carolinas pale (but worse) and the abby is hardly better. the case with triangle, as with all too many small breweries, is that the seasonals and specilities are great! but the standards are there puerly to make money and stay in business. bottom line-- get there imperial amber few have dome better, truely giving trogg's a run for there money.

It's a little odd to review a brewery. Triangle has a spacious tasting room (no seating) where they serve while they give tours and when they are selling growlers and beer. It is purely a warehouse space and is truthfully located in a slightly unsavory section of Durham which I would not want to get out of the car in after dark for very long. The place is located inside a chain link fence for security and the entrance to the brewery is on the back side up some crummy steps.

Triangle generally has a few beers to sample and they all are high quality and worth the visit.

The brewery itself is located in an industrial'ish park in a really "older" part of Durham(PC term for starting to be the scary side of town) . Went there for their bi-weekly brewery tour and it was your typical small craft brewery set up. Big warehouse, tanks, lots of kegs etc.. But their beers are outrageously good. They are very generous with their samples (which are free), taps are open before and after the tour. The guys who run the place are super. VERY passionate about their product. If you see their beers on tap somewhere definitely worth trying!!
