The usual Gordon Biersch set up, although the location in downtown San Jose is very good and it has a really nice patio. Very small inside, both in the restraurant area and bar, so you have to fight for a seat.

Disappointing selection of beers - Hefe, pilsner, lager, swarzbier and marzen, pretty limited selection and rather on the light side, I suppose that is what is to be expected in a more tropical climate.

The courtyard at GB San Jose is a nice escape from downtown bustle and a great place for jazz or blues during good weather months. The inside bar, next to the fermenters, is fair size with additional tall table seating. Additional dining tables are available in an adjacent area as well as in the loft and the courtyard. There were about 6 brews on tap when I visited including the standards, a seasonal rye and a unique unfiltered dark lager (Dunkles) that was quite enjoyable. The menu has a good selection of pub fare including pizza and pasta as well as a large number of steak and seafood entrees. Service was a bit slow for early evening and the server was not well versed wrt the current brews. We parked on the street but they validate parking at several nearby lots.
