The Piedmont Ale House is the first place in Burlington where one can have a decent beer. The bar sports 14 taps and nearly 50 bottled selections. The taps are all well chosen and at the time of my visit the list included: Magic Hat #9, Leinenkugels Sunset Wheat, Red Oak, Stella Artois, DFH 90 min IPA, Sierra Nevada Celebration, Chimay Red, Highland Tasgall, Guinness, Foothills People's Porter, and four beers from Natty Greene's.
I did not get to try the food but many of the menu items looked interesting and only one is priced higher than $10 (the full rack of ribs).
Smoking is allowed in the bar area, but the back area is smoke-free.
