This is what a small independent brewery looks like. Beer, good. Location, bad. Everyone there is friendly and respectful as well.

The yearly "Gratitude" release (barleywine) was a friendly affair with novice and beernerds alike sharing drinks in the street and brewery. The friendly folks there were all too happy to let people sample the wares - and there were many wares.

Growler fills are convenient and reasonably priced. Beer selection is broad with a many bright spots and none that seem to drag down the average.

The regular lineup features a solid approach to the craft. In the specialty/seasonal/one-off category there are quite a few beers of note depending on your style preference.

If you can find it, East End is a great place to experience beer. Only open for a few hours each week, you get to hang out in the "brewery" and sample the different styles before buying a growler of your favorite. Scott, the owner, is also big into environmental sustainability.

Big Hop IPA is their most popular. It's your basic IPA. My favorite of the regulars is the Black Strap Stout. It's one of the darkest beers you'll ever encounter and packed full of more flavors than you can shake a stick at. Also of note is the Fat Gary Nut Brown. It's a great balanced beer that everyone will love. If it's around, be sure to pick up a bottle of Gratitude Barleywine. If Barleywine is your thing, this is among the best.
