Grand Rapids has a few good-to-great beer bars, and this is on my short list of places to return to. A great on-premise and take-out beer list is in force, and is rotated on a regular basis. Logan's is easy to find, just a mile or so east of downtown. Great bar food and atmosphere, although if you are a non-smoker you'll want to take that into consideration. Make Logan's a stop on your next trip to GR.

Logan's Alley is a pretty cool little bar that seems a bit dark and mysterious at first. The bar is an L shape with the long end running back towards the back door/restrooms.

The tap selection is pretty good and it seems to be fairly up to date on the website. I visited on a Sunday at 1pm or so and the clientele seemed to be a very regular crowd that knew the bartender and each other. It was a cheers-like atmosphere.

We did not try the food, but they do serve lunch and dinner. There is a parking lot in the back and side of the restaurant and there is a patio on the side where you can enjoy a pint or two.
